We have a winner!!!
Weaning weaning weaning!!! We have been experimenting this week with a variety of ‘finger foods’ with little joy!!
Although Evelyn likes to put everything in her mouth she turns her nose up to the foods that I put on her tray!
We have tried
- Rusks,
- Puffed sticks,
- carrots,
- cucumber,
- breadsticks,
- banana,
- apple slices but nada!!
All thrown on the floor without a second glance!
Tonight, whilst making dinner for me and Adam I noticed that the broccoli I was cooking had nice long stems. “Worth a try!” These were the results (excuse the Rab C Nesbitt vest! Haha)
SUCCESS!!!
I’m not sure how much of it she ate, but it’s a step in the right direction!!
Broccoli’s benefits for baby are mammoth! Not only is it packed with nutrients such as calcium, iron and vitamin c but it contains phytonutrients, one of which – sulforaphane – which is a powerful, natural weapon against cancer. There are many studies to indicate that a diet rich in broccoli can help protect the body against cancer AND support both heart and stomach health. What’s more broccoli boosts the baby’s immune system and has anti-inflamitory properties! Yum yum yum!!!!
